High-Speed Steel Straight-Flute Hand Taps
High-speed steel taps provide good wear resistance in general purpose tapping applications in a range of materials. Also called hand taps, high-speed steel straight-flute taps are turned with a tap wrench to create or repair internal threads in blind holes and through holes. As the taps are rotated into a hole to create threads, the chips move into the flutes but are not evacuated.
This hand tap is made of vanadium high speed steel and has a 0.323 inch diameter, 1.7200 inch long shank. It is designed for use with steel, and meets the standards for ANSI 302. This 5303/2303 series hand tap has a TiN finish, and has fractional inch measurements. It is non-coolant through, has right hand direction with a 3-5/32 inch length. Plus it has four flutes and a straight shank.
