Self-retracting lifeline, or SRLs, connect a worker's full-body safety harness to an anchor point to arrest falls. They allow the worker to move freely by extending and retracting with the worker as they move. If the worker starts to fall, the SRL will brake to stop the fall and absorb the energy, typically within two to four feet from the start of the fall.
