The heat from the GTAW (gas tungsten arc welding) process melts material from the rod and the workpiece, and the molten material fuses to create the weld.
This OK TIG rod is made of stainless steel with a maximum 0.03% carbon content, and is for welding types 316 and 316L. It has good corrosion resistance, particularly in acid and chlorinated environments, and is widely used in the chemical and food processing industries. It is 40 inches long with an 1/8-inch diameter, and has a minimum tensile strength of 87,000 PSI. Available in a five-kilogram box.
