Pipe Thread Sealants

Pipe thread sealants are liquid sealants that apply directly to the threads of pipe and pipe fittings to create a seal that prevents loosening and leakage due to vibration. Also called pipe dope and pipe joint compound, they also seal out contaminants to protect the joint from corrosion and lubricate threads for easier assembly. Non-hardening sealants are commonly used in plumbing applications and allow for more ease in disassembly. Anaerobic sealants work with metal pipe and fittings in permanent assemblies that require a tight seal.

  • This multi-purpose thread sealant is a soft setting, non-petroleum-based sealant used with potable water, liquids, and gases where immediate pressurization is needed. The sealant is non-toxic, environmentally safe, and contains no lead or metals. This water-resistant, non-staining, low odour jointing compound contains aramid fibre, polytetrafluoroethylene, and natural fillers. It is non-flammable and has a flashpoint of 113 Degrees ​C. This product comes in a 225 millilitre brush top can.
