Double-sided splicing tape has a strong adhesive on both sides and a pull-away liner to assist with application. The liner can be left in place until material is ready to be attached. Splicing tape is a thin, high-strength tape that joins two materials to increase their overall length or to join two rolls of material together. It has a carrier, or base, made of paper or film. A paper carrier is hand-tearable and suitable for more temporary splicing applications. Film tape with a carrier made of polyester, polyethylene, or UPVC (unplasticized polyvinyl chloride) is intended for more rigorous splicing applications.
