Closed-head transport drums have enclosed bodies with narrow openings called bungholes on their topside for filling and dispensing. Also known as tight-head drums, their openings seal closed with capseals or threaded plugs referred to as bungs. Closed-head drums carry liquids more securely than open-head drums, so they're often preferred when transporting and storing hazardous bulk materials for manufacturing, warehouses, laboratories, and chemical processing.
